BEIRUT: Former President Amine Gemayel met with Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in Ankara on the sidelines of the annual conference of the ruling Justice and Development Party. According to a statement by his media office, Gemayel discussed with Davutoglu the issue of stability in the Middle East and Lebanon in particular, as well as the refugee crisis and the servicemen held captive by ISIS and Nusra. Turkey is a major sponsor of groups fighting against President Bashar Assad. ISIS and Nusra are holding 25 Lebanese soldiers and policemen as hostages on the outskirts of Arsal. Lebanon’s General Security chief Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim, who is carrying out the negotiations for the hostage’s release on Lebanon’s behalf, has made several visits to Turkey in attempt to secure their release
